What are your hours of operation and how can I create an appointment to meet with you?

We offer flexible hours of operation and are available to meet by appointment only. You may create an appointment with us directly and conveniently within our secure Client Portal or by visiting our Booking Calendar. You may also Contact Us to create an appointment.

What types of clients do you serve and where are your clients located?

We offer services to individuals and entities regardless of location in the United States or internationally. However, we may offer different services to different clients depending on type of client and location. Please reference Pricing, our Client Contract, and our Form ADV 2A: Firm Brochure regarding availability of our services.

Is Get Rich Slowly LLC a fiduciary?

All registered investment advisers (RIAs) are held to a legal fiduciary standard by the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and state statutes. It is our observation that the term “fiduciary” is deceptively repurposed as a marketing slogan by many individuals and firms engaged in sales of financial products and services, though infrequently embodied in practice by these individuals and firms. Our fiduciary duty to our clients is core to our professional practices and business model.

Do you offer a free trial?

We offer a complimentary 60 minute initial consultation to prospective clients. In addition, please read Our Guiding Principles and Practice Policies, our Guide to Getting Rich Slowly, and our Research, Publications, and Presentations to better understand our advisory and management style. We hope you will find these guides invaluable in managing your personal finances and in your pursuit of financial independence, regardless of whether you choose to engage our services or self-manage your personal finances.

How and where are meetings conducted between Get Rich Slowly LLC and our clients?

All meetings between Get Rich Slowly LLC and our clients are conducted securely, conveniently, and virtually via encrypted Microsoft Teams sessions. While a Microsoft account may offer added convenience, our clients are not required to register a Microsoft account to participate in our meetings.

How often will I meet with you?

We anticipate conducting meeting intervals with most clients approximately twice a year and as needed. However, meeting intervals may be conducted more or less frequently depending on your individual needs, circumstances, and preferences. Each meeting interval may involve one or more meetings.

Do I need to schedule a meeting with you every time I have a question?

Scheduling a meeting is generally preferred as this allows us to dedicate sufficient time to fully address your needs and questions. For time sensitive communications, quick questions, or brief communications, you are welcome to reach out to us by secure messaging via our secure Client Portal, email (replying to us within our encrypted emails is preferred for confidentiality and security), telephone (Microsoft Teams, Signal Messenger, or Apple FaceTime are preferred over standard telephony for confidentiality and security), or instant messaging (Microsoft Teams, Signal Messenger, or Apple iMessage are preferred over SMS messaging for confidentiality and security). Please visit Contact Us for further information.

Will I receive written recommendations or a written financial plan?

Written recommendations are provided to our clients. Depending on the scope and detail of services rendered by Get Rich Slowly LLC, written recommendations may be offered by different methods, such as by email communications (e.g., following focused meetings or engagements of a limited scope), written financial plans or interval financial plan updates (PDF documents), or written communications via our secure Client Portal and messaging platforms.

The recommended method is to transmit your private information via our secure Client Portal. You may also securely transmit your private information by using our secure Contact Us form, replying to us within our encrypted email communications, using our Secure File Upload, uploading files using secure file request links contained within Get Rich Slowly LLC emails, and using secure instant messaging platforms (Microsoft Teams, Signal Messenger, or Apple iMessage). Please visit Contact Us for further information.

Can I engage your Portfolio Management Services if I choose to maintain my assets with my current custodian?

In order to engage our Portfolio Management Services, you are required to transfer your assets to Interactive Brokers LLC, our custodian broker-dealer. In most instances, this is conveniently accomplished using the National Securities Clearing Corporation’s (NSCC) Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS) to transfer your domestic U.S. securities in-kind without liquidation of assets or tax implications (liquidation of assets may be required in certain instances with associated tax implications, such as if fractional shares are held in your account, securities have been purchased using margin borrowing, or if Interactive Brokers LLC does not offer the securities held by your current custodian). Incoming and outgoing asset transfers via ACATS are not subject to any transfer fees or penalties by Get Rich Slowly LLC or Interactive Brokers LLC. Please contact your current custodian to inquire whether fees or penalties may be applied by your current custodian to outgoing asset transfers or account closures. If you change your mind, you are free to direct the transfer of your assets elsewhere at any time without further obligations or commitments to Get Rich Slowly LLC (per Interactive Brokers LLC policy, equity received via ACATS transfers may be unavailable for withdrawal or transfer for up to 30 days after arrival). Your assets always remain your assets. Please reference Portfolio Management Services, Interactive Brokers LLC Security Transfer Fees schedule, Interactive Brokers LLC Position Transfers frequently asked questions, and Interactive Brokers LLC Fund Your Account resource for further information.

Do you maintain custody of my assets or retain control of my assets if I choose to engage your Portfolio Management Services?

Get Rich Slowly LLC does not offer custodian services. Client assets are segregated and held securely in independent client owned accounts by our custodian broker-dealer Interactive Brokers LLC. Get Rich Slowly LLC offers optional add-on Portfolio Management Services. If you elect to receive our Portfolio Management Services, we accept discretionary authority to manage securities accounts on your behalf. Prior to accepting discretionary authority from you, a written agreement is authorized by you granting Get Rich Slowly LLC a revocable limited power of attorney to manage assets on your behalf. Discretionary authority permits and authorizes Get Rich Slowly LLC to decide which securities to purchase or sell within your accounts and to enter transaction orders for purchase or sale of securities within your accounts maintained by our custodian broker-dealer Interactive Brokers LLC, including for transactions involving margin leverage, if leveraging of the investment portfolio is requested in writing by you and agreed upon by Get Rich Slowly LLC. Additionally, discretionary authority permits and authorizes Get Rich Slowly LLC to direct our custodian broker-dealer Interactive Brokers LLC to debit your accounts automatically for fees billed to you by Get Rich Slowly LLC for Portfolio Management Services, as authorized by you via advance written agreement. Discretionary authority does not permit or authorize Get Rich Slowly LLC to withdraw your funds or securities maintained by our custodian broker-dealer Interactive Brokers LLC upon our instruction, nor any other permission or authority to obtain possession of your funds or securities upon our instruction. Furthermore, discretionary authority does not permit or authorize Get Rich Slowly LLC to engage in transactions involving margin leverage within your accounts without express written request by you to utilize a leveraged portfolio strategy and conditional to our acceptance of such a request. Your assets always remain your assets. Please reference Portfolio Management Services, our Client Contract, and our Form ADV 2A: Firm Brochure for further information.

If I select your hourly fees billing option for Advisory Services instead of your flat-fee subscription (retainer fees) billing option for Advisory Services, how many billing hours might I incur?

Our hourly fees billing option for Advisory Services offers flexible and transparent billing to clients. Number of billing hours incurred will differ for each client and each engagement: professional services rendered by Get Rich Slowly LLC are always individualized to match the needs and requests of our clients. Generally, simple questions or brief communications will not incur any billing hours (we won’t nickel-and-dime you). A range of 2 to 6 billing hours is common for focused consultations. A range of 8 to 12 billing hours is common for in-depth planning. These general range estimates are not binding upon Get Rich Slowly LLC and are offered for the sole purpose of aiding you in making an informed decision to engage our Advisory Services. Actual billing hours incurred may differ from these general range estimates. Billing hours incurred by our clients equal aggregate time accrued by Get Rich Slowly LLC while engaged in rendering Advisory Services to our clients. This is inclusive of, but is not limited to, time accrued preparing in advance for meetings with our clients or other consultants engaged by our clients, time accrued conducting meetings with our clients or other consultants engaged by our clients, time accrued in rendering Advisory Services following meetings with our clients or other consultants engaged by our clients, time accrued conducting research activities within the scope of our Advisory Services, time accrued preparing written materials (e.g., generating planning documents, written communications, or reports), time accrued creating or updating client records, and all other time accrued rendering Advisory Services to our clients. We prioritize offering our Advisory Services to you efficiently, without unnecessary and wasteful frills, in order to minimize billing hours incurred by you and minimize the negative impact of fees on your hard earned dollars. Ultimately, you determine the scope and detail of services you receive from Get Rich Slowly LLC. Please reference Pricing, our Client Contract, and our Form ADV 2A: Firm Brochure for further information regarding our billing options.

What payment methods are available to me and where can I access my payment methods and information?

Methods of payment accepted for Advisory Services include credit card payments, debit card payments, and bank account direct debit payments via Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. We may offer additional methods of payment for Advisory Services to you at our sole discretion. You may access your payment methods and information for Advisory Services by logging in to our secure Client Portal. If your assets are maintained by our custodian broker-dealer Interactive Brokers LLC, fees billed to you by Get Rich Slowly LLC for Portfolio Management Services are debited by Interactive Brokers LLC directly and automatically from your accounts. You may access your payment information for Portfolio Management Services by logging in to your Interactive Brokers Portal. Please reference our Client Contract and our Form ADV 2A: Firm Brochure for further information.

Do you share my information with third parties?

We are fully committed to preserving privacy and confidentiality of client information. This commitment is core to our business model. We do not sell, market, share, or otherwise disclose client information to third parties. Client information may be disclosed to third parties exclusively upon written or verbal authorization from clients for the purposes of coordinating with other professionals (e.g., attorneys, accountants, tax specialists, insurance brokers or agents, or other professionals), to facilitate our efforts in rendering services to our clients, or as otherwise requested by clients (e.g., disclosure to family members assisting clients, as authorized by our clients). We may disclose client information when compelled by law. Please reference Our privacy practices, security practices, and technology platform, our Privacy Notice, and our Client Contract for complete terms.

How can I discontinue your services?

We offer easy and straightforward cancellations. You may cancel our services at any time and for any reason without further obligations or commitments. Please request cancellation of our services in writing by emailing us at [email protected] or messaging us within our secure Client Portal: notify us that you wish to terminate our services, list the specific services you wish to terminate or state that you wish to terminate our services in entirety, and state the effective date upon which to terminate our services (e.g., termination of our services effective the date of your written communication to us or effective a specified future date). Please reference Our cancellation policy, our Client Contract, and our Form ADV 2A: Firm Brochure for further information.
