  1. Understand the client’s personal and financial circumstances.
  2. Identify and select personal and financial objectives.
  3. Analyze the client’s current courses of action and potential alternative courses of action.
  4. Formulate financial planning recommendations.
  5. Present and refine financial planning recommendations.
  6. Implement financial planning recommendations (responsibility may be allocated to client or adviser).
  7. Monitor progress towards achieving personal and financial objectives and update financial planning recommendations as appropriate (responsibility may be allocated to client or adviser).
